shall have the right to appeal to the Circuit Court of the
county; or if in the City of Baltimore, to the Criminal Court
of said city, where the same will be tried as other crimes and
misdemeanors."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Add at end of 15th section: "And provided, That the pro-
visions of this Act shall not apply to Anne Arundel county."

Which was rejected.

Mr. Lamar submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend section 13 by striking out in the 4th line the words,
"a portion," and insert "all," and add to the end of the 6th
line of the same section the following words: "except for ex-
penses actually incurred by the Institution in supplying the
necessaries of life to its inmates, during the period of their
confinement."

Which was lost.

The hill was then read a second time, as amended, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Latchford, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
following order:

Ordered, That the use of this Hall be tendered to the Ladies
Temperance Committee, and we adjourn until 1 o'clock.

Which was read.

Mr. Johnson submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out "1 o'clock," and insert "12 1/2 o'clock."
Which was adopted.

The question then recurring upon the order as amended,
It was rejected.
Mr. Greenfield, (the rules being suspended,)

Then presented the memorial of the State Temperance Al-
liance.

Pending the reading, whereof,

Mr. Freaner moved that so much be considered the reading
of the memorial.
