So the motion prevailed, and the enacting clause of said
bill was stricken out.

The bill entitled an Act to pay Alexander H. Seth, a Jus-
tice of the Peace of the State of Maryland, in and for Talbot
county, the sum of two hundred dollars, as fees in certain
cases,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 22, of an
Act passed January session, 1872, chapter 128, entitled an
Act to repeal section 22, of Article 41, of the Code of Public
General Laws, entitled "Fish and Fisheries," sub-title "Pa-
tuxent," regulating the right of fishing in the Patuxent
River and its tributaries, and re-enact the same with amend-
ments,

Being upon a third reading,

Mr. Hawkins submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 22, strike out all after the word "waters," in line
15, and insert the following:

"And provided that none other than bonafide resident citi-
zens of said counties shall use, in any of the waters of said
river that bind on Prince George's, Charles and Calvert
counties, above the village known as "Benedict," any seine,
weir or net more than seventy fathoms long, and less than two
inches square in the mesh."

The proposed amendment was adopted, and the bill, as
amended, read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:
