Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Cumberland
and Obio Canal Company,

Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Brace submitted the folio wing amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Preamble, line 17, strike out the word "town," and in-
sert inlieu thereof, "city,"

Which, was adopted.

Mr, Greenfield submitted the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 1, line 4, after the word "Negley," insert "G. H.
Thurston, J. E. Moorhead, Frank Cowan." At the end of
section, insert "in the same manner, and as to a large ex-
tent as if said rights, powers, exemptions, privileges, fran-
chises had been particularly granted to the Cumberland and
Ohio Canal Company by this Act."

The proposed amendments were severally read and adopted.
Mr. Greenfield submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMEMT PROPOSED.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
hereby reserves to itself the right to alter, amend or repeal
this Act at its pleasure.

Which was adopted.

The bill, as amended, was then read a second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr, Stewart, of Baltimore City, (the rules
being suspended,)

The House proceeded to the consideration of

The bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 193, of the Acts
passed at January session 1872, and to re-enact the same with
amendments, so that oysters sold in the shell at Baltimore,
Crisfield and at all packing establishments, shall be measur-
ed in an iron measure, &c.,

Said bill being upon a third reading.
