General Assembly, passed at January session, 1872, 60, 61
and 74, of Article 81, of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled "Revenue and Taxes," in so far as the same may
relate to Carroll county, and to enact additional sections to
Article 7, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Car-
roll County," sub-title "State and County Taxes," with
proposed amendments.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend section 1, line 10, by striking out the word "and,"
after "one hundred and fifty," and insert in same line after
the words "one hundred and fifty-one," the words "and one
hundred and fifty-two." Amend further by inserting page
4 1/2 at the bottom of section 151, as section 152.

And be it enacted, That the County Treasurer shall, in
each and every year, as soon as the County Commissioners
shall have made their annual levy, give notice by advertise-
ment in two newspapers published in said county, or in such
other manner as said Commissioners shall direct; which no-
tice shall be as follows, or to the following effect, viz: This
is to give notice that the County Commissioners of Carroll
county have this day made their annual levy on the assess-
able property of said county for State and county taxes for
the year ——; that all persons or incorporated institutions
that shall pay their State and county taxes on or before the
1st day of September next, shall be entitled to a deduction of
five per centum on the amount of said taxes; and if paid on or
before the 1st day of October next, a deduction of four per
centum; and if paid on or before the 1st day of November
next, a deduction of three per centum; that said taxes will be
in arrear on the 1st day of January next, and bear interest
from that date; that all persons or incorporated institutions
failing to pay their State and county taxes before the same
shall be in arrear, will render the property and estate of such
delinquent liable to be sold for the prompt payment of said
taxes by the County Treasurer ; and said notice shall be
published in said newspapers during the months of July
and December in each and every year.

The proposed amendments were severally read and adopted,
and the bill, as amended, read a second time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Caroline county to borrow money for the
purpose of remodeling and improving the Court-House in
said county, and constructing the necessary fire-proof vaults
for the preservation of the records and Court papers of the
Circuit Court and Orphans' Court of said county, to issue
bonds for the payment of the same, and to levy taxes on the
