The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 1 and 2, of Ar-
ticle 1, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Allegany
County," sub-title "Almshouse."

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Watkins,

At 3 o'clock, P. M., the House took a recess until 8
o'clock, this P. M.,

NIGHT SESSION.
MONDAY, March 16—8 o'clock, P. M.
The House met.
Present at the call of the roll, the following members :

Messrs. Hines, (Speaker,) Colton, Merritt, Henkle, Nut-
well, Bird, Turner, of Calvert, Lancaster, Buchanan, Mat-
thews, Merryman, Seth, Valliant, Duer, Gordy, Latch ora,
Robey, Kemp, Pruitt, Merrill, Koons, Miller, Nicodemus,
Annan, Grafton, Lee, Eiley, Dawson, McCosker, McWil-
liams, Staylor, Stewart, of Baltimore city, McAleese, Gill,
Loane, Fenton, Berry, Freaner, Walking, Wier, Wack,
Park, Waters, Vanderford, Galt, Brown, Maclin, Stewart,
of Howard, Leonard, Bedsworth—50.

Mr. Matthews, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Keech
was absent from his seat on account of sickness.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Nutwell, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Calvert Bank of
Baltimore.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Bird, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 35 and 7, of chap-
ter 39, of the Act of the General Assembly, passed January
session, 1872, entitled an Act to provide tor the repair and
improvement of the public roads in Calvert county, and to-
re-enact said ssctions with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Eobinson, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
