The vote by which said bill was passed was reconsidered.
Said bill being then upon a third reading,

Mr. Brace, (by unanimous consent,) submitted the follow-
ing amendments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out sub-section 30, and insert the following in lieu
thereof, viz :

The said Council shall be divided into two classes, each
class to consist of one member from each ward.

There shall be elected, on the third Monday of May, in the
year 1874, two members from each ward, and at the first
meeting of said Council after the election and qualification
