1874.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 749
so. They, however, stopped at the new building on Aisquith
street, which, when completed, will afford a much greater
capacity than the building now occupied. This is a very
deserving charity, because of the great number of those who
are supported by it, and the State should remember the large
class of the population who contribute to its support. There
is no doubt that at this time the Asylum needs all the aid it
can obtain, and an appropriation now will materially assist
in the completion of the building, as well as add to the com-
fort of the inmates.
RECOMMENDATIONS.
Your Committee would recommend an appropriation of
$1,500 each, to the House of the Good Shepherd and St.
Vincent's Infant Asylum; $1,000 each to the Little Sisters of
the Poor, the Oblate Sisters of Providence, and the Hebrew
Hospital; and $500 each to the Hebrew Orphan Asylum and
the German Orphan Asylum.
