718 JOURNAL OF PKOCEEDINGS [Mar. 11,

Mr. Watkins, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported without amendment,

The Senate hill entitled an Act to provide for the payment
of a certain sum of money to Charles H. Gibson, State's At-
torney for Talbot county, for professional services rendered
the State.

Mr. Gill moved that said bill be referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Decided in the negative.

Said bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Keech moved that the said bill be referred to the Com-
mittee on. Claims.

Decided in the negative.
Also, without amendment,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to complete and ornament the cemetery provided for
the interment of the remains of the Confederate dead at Point
Lookout.

Which was read a second time.
Also, unfavorably upon,

A bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to Arti-
cle 56, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Licenses,"
to be numbered 92—9.

The unfavorable report was adopted.
Also, reported unfavorably upon,

A bill entitled an Act appropriating a certain sum of
money towards repairing the National Turnpike between
Frostburg and Pennsylvania State Line.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the unfavora-
ble report,

Mr. Brace moved that the bill be substituted for the un-
favorable report of the Committee.

The question recurring upon sustaining the motion,
