Mr. Merryman presented the petition of A. S. Abell, for
return of two hundred and thirty dollars, taxes paid errone-
ously.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Turner, of Baltimore county, presented the petition of
J. F. Cockey and others, to convey a burial lot to a religious
denomination in Baltimore county.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county
delegation.

Mr. Coulbourn presented the petition of Levin Conner and
Hetty Sterling, of Somerset county, praying to have their
names entered on the pension list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Etchison presented "A petition from five thousand la-
dies, asking to be let alone on the Local Option Question."

Which was read, and,

On motion of Mr. Fenton.
Two hundred copies were ordered to be printed.

Mr. Fenton submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be requested
to report to this House the probable effect upon the revenues
of this State by the passage of the bill known as the "Local
Option Law," and what legislation, in his opinion, will be
necessary to provide for any deficiency of the revenues likely
to result therefrom.

Which was read.

Mr. Brace submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the words "Local Option Law."

The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,
