relating to the pay of the Crier of the Circuit Court for Cal-
vert county, and to re-enact a substitute therefor, and to
re-enact with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Colton, Chairman of a Select Committee, (the rules
being suspended,) reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Sheriffs of the
several counties and City of Baltimore to collect certain fees
due the late Clerk of the Circuit Court for St, Mary's county,
in the same manner as such officers fees have been heretofore
collected.

Which was read a first time.

The bill entitled an Act for the promotion of Agriculture
and the Mechanical and Household Arts in Harford county,

Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Hawkins submitted the following amendment;
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, line 3, after the word "Society," insert "and a
like sum unto the Southern Maryland and District of Colum-
bia Agricultural and Mechanical Society in Prince George's
county."

Which was adopted.

Mr, Merritt submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, line 3, after the word "Society," add the words,
''and Kent County Agricultural Society, No. 1;" and where
the word "Society" occurs, strike out the same and insert the
word "Societies."

The proposed amendment was adopted, and the bill, as
amended, read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 287, of the Acts
of January session, 1870, entitled an Act to repeal section
810, of Article 4, cf the Code of Public Local Laws, chapter
367, passed at January session, 1867, and to re-enact the same
with an amendment,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. McCosker moved that the further consideration thereof
be postponed, and said bill recommitted.

Decided in the negative.

Said bill was then read a second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
