ous and popular in the State. His warm heart, his genial,
winning manner, and amiable temper, serene, calm, courteous
and affectionate, even under the most trying ordeals, endeared
him strongly, and even fondly, to all who knew him. After
the heat of political strife was over, whether successful or not,
he met opponent and ally with alike cordiality, and took them
to heart.

This House, Mr. Speaker, and the outside world, will go
on as before, engrossed with the public and private duties of
life. Days, weeks and years will roll on aa in the dead cen-
turies of the past, but while the hearts of true Marylanders
throb with those emotions of sympathy and love that always
fill them, while memory lasts and the records of the past are
handed down to our children and ou childrens' children, the
memory of Robert Fowler will be cherished with reverence
and affection.

The question then recurring upon concurring in the motion
submitted by Mr. Buchanan.,

On motion of Mr. Seth,

The vote by which the order was adopted, on Friday last,
that the House hold night sessions on Wednesday and Thurs-
day of this week, was unanimously reconsidered.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
order,

On motion of Mr. Seth,
The words "Wednesday and," were stricken out.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the order
as amended,

It was adopted.

Mr. Henkle proposed to amend the motion submitted by
Mr. Buchanan, by striking out the words "that a Commit-
tee of eight members of this House be appointed to," and in-
sert, "this House, in a body."

Which being accepted by Mr. Buchanan,

The motion made by Mr. Buchanan was then unanimously
adopted.

And Messrs. Buchanan, Freaner, Seth, Gill and Koons ap-
pointed a Committee to draft resolutions touching the life
and character of the deceased.

Mr. Stake submitted the following order:

Ordered, That a Committee of three be appointed by the
Speaker to make arrangements for the funeral obsequies of
the late Robert Fowler.
