Second Branch.

Mr. Denson presented the petition of Barbery Bowers,
widow of J. J. Bowers, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking a
pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr Steiner presented the of petition F. A. Rupley, A. C.
Bragonier, and one hundred and seventy-one others, citizens
of Frederick county, praying the passage of a law permitting
the citizens of wards and districts to decide whether intoxi-
cating liquors should be sold in said wards and districts ; and
praying also that the seller of intoxicating liquors, or the
renter of the premises, be made responsible for all damages
resulting from such sale on the premises.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Also,

Petition of Jonathan Kelier, Charles M. Luckett and two
hundred and seven others, citizens of Frederick county, pray-
ing the repeal of the law prohibiting fishing in the Monocacy
river with nets, seines, fish-baskets, &c.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Steiner, Mudd and
Tuck.

Mr. Claggett presented the petitions of George Lang, George
Uhler, Samuel Lutz, James Swails, Samuel Creager, soldiers
of the war of 1812, and Susan Miller, Sophia Rohrer, Catha-
rine Kline, Catharine Moore, Magdalene Wright, Ann Frantz,
Ann Moxley, Elizabeth Wolfhill, and Mary Crum, widows
of soldiers of the war of 1812, praying to be placed on the
pension rolls, and for payment of arrears of pension lost by
the accidental omission of their names by clerical mistake,
from the Act passed January Session, 1870, chapter 477.

Which were read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House of
Delegates.
