Mr. Turner, of Baltimore county, moved that the further
consideration thereof be postponed, and said bill be made the
order of the day for Monday next, the 2nd day of March.

The question recurring upon concurring in the motion,
It was decided in the negative.
Mr. Keech submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend section 1 by striking out the words "two miles,"
in the sixth line, and inserting in lieu thereof the words
"one-quarter of a mile ;" also, by striking out the words
"three miles," in the thirteenth line of the printed bill, and
inserting in lieu thereof the words "one-half mile;" also, by
striking out the words "two miles," in the twentieth line,
and inserting in lieu thereof the words "one-quarter of a
mile,"

Which was read.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,
