OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE,

February 3rd, 1874.

The following Act of Assembly was this day presented to
His Excellency, the Governor, for his approval:

An Act to repeal section 806 of Article IV. of the Code of
Public Local Laws relating to the city of Baltimore, entitled
"Police" and to re-enact in lieu thereof, another section as
section 806.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

The House bill entitled "An Act to give the sanction of
the General Assembly of Maryland to the devise and bequest
of Henry Butler, to the Trustees of the African Methodist
Episcopal Ebenezer Church, of the city of Baltimore,"

Was read the third time and failed to pass for want of a
Constitutional majority, as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Longwell,
Blake, Lloyd,
Billingsley, Stevens,
Claggett, Steiner,
Fields, Spencer,
Getty, Walsh—12.
NEGATIVE—None.

On motion by Mr. Steiner,
The vote by which the bill was lost was reconsidered,

Said bill was then read the third time and passed by yeas and
nays as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Blake, McCulloh,
Billingsley, Stevens,
Claggett, Steiner,
Davis, Spencer,
