the State of Virginia to establish a temporary boundary line
between this State and the said State of Virginia, pending
the final settlement of the questions in controversy between
said States.

Mr. Watkins, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means,

Reported the Joint Resolution empowering the Comp-
troller of the Treasury to employ counsel to assist in the ar-
gument of the case of the State vs. The Cumberland and
Pennsylvania Rail Road Company, with proposed amend-
ments.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out the word "Comptroller," in the first Resolution,
and insert in lieu thereof the word "Governor."

the word "Governor."

The amendments were severally read and adopted, and the
Resolution, as amended, was read a second time.

The question then recurring upon the passage of said Reso-
lution,

On motion of Mr. Seth,

The further consideration thereof was indefinitely post-
poned.

Mr. Johnson, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Dorchester county to subscribe to the capital stock
of the Cambridge and Chesapeake Rail Road Company.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Johnson moved that the rules be suspended, and that
said bill be read a second time this day, under the provis-
ions of the Constitution, Article 3, section 27.

The question recurring upon concurring in the motion.
