Also favorably,

The Senate bill entitled, an Act to add a new section to
Article 30, of the Code of Public General Laws of the State
of Maryland, to succeed section 144, so as to prevent the
public execution of the death penalty.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Freaner, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi-
ciary, reported unfavorably,

A bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to Arti-
cle 27, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled " Costs,"
and to be section 11 of said Article.

And the unfavorable report was adopted.

Mr. Riley, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners for Harford county, to subscribe
to the capital stock of Turnpike Companies in Harford
county.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Lancaster, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal, amend and re-enact sec-
tion 94, of the Act of Assembly, chapter 294, passed Jan-
uary session, 1870, entitled an Act to add an additional
section to the Code of Public Local Laws for Charles county,
under the head of Roads."

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Nicodemus, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council of Frederick, to
subscribe to the capital stock of the Frederick and Penn-
sylvania Line Rail Road Company, and to endorse the bonds
of the said Company.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Mr. Clark, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
