tee on Ways and Means.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to establish a Board of Public Chari-
ties.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Ways and Means.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to extend the charter of the New-
York Mining Company, and the supplement thereto.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

Mr. Freaner, Chairman of the Committee on the Judici-
ary, reported unfavorably upon

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 19, of Article
29, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Courts,"
sub-title "Judgments.".

The question recurring upon the adoption of the report,

Mr. Brace moved that the bill be substituted for the unfa-
vorable report of the Committee.

Which was decided in the negative.

The unfavorable report of the Committee was then adopted.

Mr. Watkins, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to provide for the assessment of the
shares of the capital stock of National Banks located in this
State, heretofore omitted to he assessed for State purposes,
and to collect the State taxes due oa said shares.

Which was read a first time.

Also, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act appropriating a sum of money to pay
for certain buildings erected in connection with the Washing-
ion University in the City of Baltimore, and to provide for
the free education in said University of students from the
several legislative districts of this State.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Freaner, Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary,
to whom was referred the bill entitled an Act to repeal sec-
tion 2, Article 36, of the Code of Public General Laws, enti-
tled "Estrays," and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Reported back the same, and moved that the bill be referred
to the Committee on Agriculture,

And the bill was so referred.
