Article 56 of the Code of Public General Laws of this State,

Which, was read a first time.

Mr. Foster, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay the claims of W. L. Pfieffer, James E. Tate, John Him-
elheber, George W. Murdoch, Y. E. Hayden and Benjamin
F. Cronin.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Freaner, Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Wicomico county to borrow money on the credit
of the county for the purpose of purchasing a site on which,
to erect a court-house and jy.il, to issue bonds for the pay-
ment of the same, and to levy taxes on the assessable prop-
erty of the county, to redeem said bonds, and to pay the
interest thereon.

Which was considered.

Mr. Foster, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay the claims of Kelly, Piet & Co., and John Murphy &
Co.

Which was read a first time.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to locate the county seat of Garrett county,

Pending which,

Mr. Brace demanded the previous question.

The question then being,

"Shall the main question be now put ?"

It was decided in the affirmative.

The question then recurring upon the passage of the
bill,

The bill was then passed by yeas and nays, as follows :
