Ordered to be entered on the Journal, and referred to the-
Select Committee on that subject.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill,
Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact section 6, oi
Article 7, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled Ar-
bitration and Reward,

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee-
on the Judiciary.

Also,

Returned the following bills,

Severally endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays:"

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Trustees of the
Almshouse for Allegany county to provide houses for chil-
dren under their charge by binding them out under inden-
tures of apprenticeship.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay Joseph Spurrier, late Collector of State Taxes in Carroll
county, the amount overpaid by him into the Treasury.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to prohibit the granting of licenses
for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer
at or near the ground of the Wesley Grove Camp-meeting.,
Association in Howard county.

Also,

The hill entitled an Act to confirm the devise and bequest
of Benjamin Parsons, late of Wicomico county, deceased, to
the Vestry of Spring Hill Parish for certain uses and purpo-
ses therein named.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communi-
cation from Hon. John W. Davis, Treasurer of the State, to-
gether with statement named therein.
