On motion by Mr. Billingsley,
Was ordered to lay over.

The Seriate bill entitled "An Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Garrett county to provide for and defray
the expenses of taking the census of said county,"

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled '' An Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments Section 811 of Article IV. of the Public
Local Laws of the city of Baltimore entitled Police, and to
repeal all Acts and parts of Acts inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this Act,''

Being on second reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:

In the blank insert "twenty-five hundred."

Mr. Blake submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:

Strikeout "twenty-five hundred," and insert "two thou-
sand,

Pending the consideration of which,

Mr. Stevens moved that the further consideration thereof
be postponed until Friday, 6th instant.

The bill entitled "An Act to repeal an Act passed at the
January Session, 1868, chapter 209, entitled an Act to add
to the 11th section of Article LVI. of the Code of Public
General Laws, a sub-section entitled Insurance Brokers and
to re-enact the same with amendments,"

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Blake, Getty,

Billingsley, McCulloh,

Brattan, Stevens,

Crawford, Steiner,

Davis, Spencer,

Denson, Tuck—14.

NEGATIVE—None.
