lowing Academies and Schools, made previous to, and in the
month of January, 1874, viz:

Elkton Academy, Cecil county ; West Nottingham Acad-
emy, Cecil county; Charlotte Hall School, Charles and
St. Mary's counties ; East New Market Academy, Dorchester
county; Frederick County College, Frederick county ; Darl-
ington Academy, Hartord county; Millington Academy,
Kent county; Shrewsbury Academy, Kent county; Eock-
ville Academy, Montgomery county; Upper Marlborough
Academy, Prince George's county; Centreville Academy,
Queen Anne's county ; Church Hill Academy, Queen Anne's
county; Washington Academy, Somerset county; Cam-
bridge Female Academy, Dorchester county; Allegany
County Academy, Allegany county ; Cambridge Academy,
Dorchester county ; Washington College, Kent county.

Which were severally read, and referred to the Committee
on Education.

Mr. Clark presented the Report of the Clerk to the Commis-
sioners for Montgomery county, with hill presented by Spencer
C. Jones, State's Attorney tor said county, for the year 1872
and '73, in response to an order of the House.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Dawson presented the petition of W, E. Lider, ad-
ministrator of R. K. Richardson, late Sheriff of Caroline
county, for fees due from the State of Maryland.

Also,

From Jonathan Evitts, late Sheriff of Caroline county, ask-
ing to be reimbursed for money expended in. the recapture of
three escaped prisoners from the jail in said county.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Claims.

Mr. Joyce presented the petition of Chas. H. Jewett, to
have refunded money paid in behalf of the State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Bond presented the petition of Biscoe Adams, asking
to be released from amount due the State on account of R. J.
Bean, Collector of St. Mary's county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims
