On motion of Mr. Wier,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to alter and amend the charter
of the Hampshire and Baltimore Coal Company, incorporated
by an Act entitled an Act to recognize the Hampshire and
Baltimore Coal Company, a corporation created by and
existing under the laws of the State of West Virginia, as a
corporation in the State of Maryland, and to authorize it to
exercise the powers and privileges of a corporation within
the State of Maryland, for mining and other purposes, passed
at January session, 1864, chapter 295, by repealing the
second section thereof, and amending the same and re-enact-
ing it as amended.
On motion of Mr. Merryman,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to protect travellers upon the highways, at
railroad crossings in Baltimore county.
On motion of Mr. Watkins,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to repeal. Article 81 of the Code of Public
General Laws, entitled "Revenue and Taxes," and to re-
enact the same with amendments.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to repeal chapter 234 of the Acts of 1872,
entitled an Act to tax the gross receipts of Railroad Compa-
nies in this State for State purposes, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to repeal chapter 274, Acts of 1872, enti-
tled an Act to regulate the taxation of Coal Mining Compa-
nies for State purposes, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to repeal section 2 of an Act passed at Jan-
nuary session, 1872, entitled an Act to assess and collect
taxes on the property of the several Railroad Corporations
chartered by the State of Maryland, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
