Mr. Freaner submitted the following message:

BY TUB HOUSE OP DELEGATES,

January 21,1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have recieved your message announcing your disagree-
ment to the Joint Resolutions passed by the House, in refer-
ence to the statue of Chief Justice Taney, and the commem-
oration of its delivery to the State of Maryland, and respect-
fully announce that we have failed to percieve any sufficient
reason for receding from our Joint Resolution, and therefore
concluded to insist upon the same.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.

Mr. Watkins, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, to whom was referred the bill entitled an Act to pro-
hibit the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Frederick county from ,
issuing licenses to venders of spirituous or fermented liquors
within three miles of the post-office at Hansonville, Freder-
ick county, reported back the same, aud asked to be discharg-
ed from the further consideration thereof, and recommended
that said bill be referred to the Select Committee on that
subject.

The Committee were discharged, and the bill so referred.

Also,

Reported unfavorably on the petition of L. D. Gulliford,
for a reassessment of property.

And the Report was adopted.
