Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Fields called up the report submitted by the Joint
Committee on Printing,

When the said report was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Billingsley,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro-
duce a bill to place Mrs. Ann Mattingly, the widow of Syl-
vester Mattingly, a soldier of the war of 1812, upon the pen-
sion roll of St. Mary's county.

The hour of 1 o'clock having arrived, the Senate proceeded
to the consideration of the order of the day, being

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to release the estate and
property, real, personal and mixed, devised and bequeathed
to the Johns Hopkins Hospital, from the tax on the clear
value thereof, commonly known and designated as the tax on
collateral inheritances, distributive shares and legacies,"

Being on second reading,
On motion by Mr. Fields,

Further consideration thereof was postponed until Wed-
nesday, February 11th, and made the order of the day for
12 o'clock, M.

The further order of the day, being

The Senate bill entitled ''An Act to incorporate the Fred-
erick City Superphosphate Manufacturing Company,"

Was taken up, read the second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Mudd, it was

Ordered, To be entered on the Journal, that Mr. Suit was
detained from his seat on account of sickness.

The Senate bill entitled "An Act for the relief of Bank of
Commerce, cancelling 3,800 shares in the capital stock there-
of, representing a portion of its assets, and reducing the par
value of all other shares in its capital stock,"

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Billingsley,
The Senate adjourned.
