REPORT.

The Committee appointed to inquire into the expediency of
providing a coat-room for the use of the members of this
House, beg leave to report that they have made an examina-
tion, and that a suitable room could be arranged in the south-
east corner of the Rotunda, at small expense, and that this
Committee is prepared to arrange such room, if the House
shall so direct.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Keech,

The aforesaid Committee were directed to carry into effect
the contemplated arrangements as submitted in the report.

Mr. Leonard, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to confirm the devise and bequest of
Benjamin Parsons, late of Wicomico county, deceased, to the
Vestry of Spring Hill Parish, for certain uses and purposes,
therein named.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Mr. Keech, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled a supplement to the Act to incorporate the
Hannah More Academy, of Baltimore county, passed at
December session, 1839, chapter 189.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Groome, Chairman of a Select Committee, submitted
the following

REPORT.

Ordered, That so much of the message of the Governor of
Maryland as relates to the Finances of the State, be referred
to the Committee on Ways and Means.

That so much of said message as relates to the Chesapeake
and Ohio Canal Company, and the Baltimore and Ohio Rail
Road Company, be referred to the Committee on Ways and
Means.

That so much of said message as relates to the Maryland
Institute, for the promotion of Mechanic Arts, to the House
of Refuge, and to the Institution for the Education of the
