Hannah More Academy, of Baltimore county, passed at the
December session of the General Assembly, A. D. 1837,
chapter 189.
On motion of Mr. Stewart, of Baltimore city,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill granting the assent of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland to a legacy to Trinity Protestant Episco-
pal Church, in the City of Baltimore, by John S. Hugg, late
of said city, deceased.
On motion of.Mr. Glotfelty,
Leave was granted to Garrett county delegation and Messrs.
Weir, of Allegany, and Fletchall, of Montgomery, to intro-
duce a bill authorizing the County Commissioners of Garrett
county to re-district, re-number or increase the election pre-
cincts of said county.
On motion of Mr. Keech,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill to repeal chapter 116 of the laws of
1868, entitled an Act to amend the thirty seventh Article of the
Public General Laws, by repealing the second section of said
Article, relating to the competency of witnesses and the ex-
amination of parties, as amended by the Act of 1864, chapter
109, and inserting in said Article, in lieu of the section so
repealed, the following; section, relating to competency of wit-
nesses and the examination of parties, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. McColgan,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal an Act, (chapter 203 of the Acts
of 1872.) entitled an Act to repeal section 59 of the Act of
1868, chapter 471, relating to corporations, and to re-enact
the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Henkle,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill to provide for the employment of convict labor
upon the construction and repairs of the public roads in the
State.
On motion of Mr. Fowler,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Baltimore and
Catonsville Passenger Railway Company.
