Excellency the Governor, and inform him that the General
Assembly is prepared to receive any communication he may
be pleased to make.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs. Wat-
kins, Buchanan and Koons.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.
Mr. Lee submitted the following order :

Ordered, that the Committee on Claims, (whenever ap-
pointed,) pay to the officers of the last House of Delegates,
not reappointed, who have officiated in the organization of
the present House, eight days per diem and mileage.

Which was adopted.

Mr, Cooper submitted the following order :

Ordered, that the Speaker appoint a Committee, consisting
of three members from Baltimore City and fifteen from the
counties, to recommend permanent subordinate officers for
the House of Delegates.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Fletchall submitted the, following order :

Ordered, that the Printers of the last House be declared
the Printers of this House, until such time as the Joint Com-
mittee on Printing shall contract for the same.

Which was adopted.

The Committee on the part of the House, of the Joint
Committee appointed to wait upon his Excellency the Gov-
ernor, to inform him that the General Assembly was now
in session and ready to receive such communication as his Ex-
cellency was prepared to make, after a short absence ap-
peared and reported that they had discharged the duty
assigned them, and that his Excellency Would at once com-
municate by message with the House.

The Hon. Richard C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, deliv-
ered the following message from his Excellency the Gov-
ernor:
