The following communications which had been received
from His Excellency, Governor Groome, by the hands of R.
O. Hollyday, Esq., Secretary of State, were read:

Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland :

I nominate O. A. Kirkland, as Auctioneer in the city of
Baltimore.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment agreeably to the nomination.

Mr. Densou, from the Committee on Executive Nomina-
tions, to which had been referred the nomination of Frank
A. Bond, as Adjutant General and Chief of Staff, reported
the Committee were of opinion that said nomination ought
to be confirmed.

Whereupon the Senate advised and consented to said ap-
pointment agreeably to the nomination of the 1st of April,
1874.

On motion by Mr. Blake,

The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi-
ness.
