EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, January 13, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:

I herewith transmit to you a list of the Executive appoint-
ments made during the recess of the Legislature for Somer-
set county.

1872.

June 8.—Benjamin R. Dashiel, Justice of the Peace 1st
district, vice himself, failed to qualify.

June .13.—Lazarus M. Hall, Justice of the Peace 2nd dis-
trict, vice Wm. McDorman, failed to quialify.

June 14.—Henry T. Tull, Justice of the Peace 3rd district,
vice himself, failed to qualify.

June 14.—Tubman F. Bonneville, Justice of the Peace 4th
district, vice himself, failed to qualify.

Nov. 26.—Joseph J. Webster, Justice of the Peace 5th dis-
trict, vice himself, failed to qualify.

June 14.—Edward I. Ward, Justice of the Peace 6th district,
vice himself, failed to qualify.

June 14.—John Tyler, Jr., Justice of the Peace 7th district,
vice himself, failed to qualify.

June 14.—Thomas W. Stone, Officer of Registration 5th
district, vice himself, failed to qualify.

June 18.--Nathan J. P. Tull, Officer of Registration 3rd
district, vice James S. Anderson, failed to
qualify.

June 25.—Edward Ford, Justice of the Peace 2nd district,
vice John H. W. Byrd, failed to qualify.

June 25.—Thomas H. Bork, Notary Public at Crisfield, vice
himself, failed to qualify.

Aug. 9.--Thomas H. Tull, Officer of Registration 3rd dis-
trict, vice N. J. P. Tull, disqualified.

Nov. 26.—Seth Wilkins, Justice of the Peace 3rd district,
vice E. J. Adams, failed to qualify.

Dec. 31.—Thomas T. Upshur, Justice of the Peace 1st dis-
trict, vice Benjamin R. Dashiell, resigned.
