vice W. S. Bell, resigned.

On motion by Mr. Knight,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments agreeably to the nominations.

Annapolis, January 13, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:

I herewith transmit to you a list of the Executive appoint-
ments made during the recess of the Legislature for Wash-
ington county.

1872.

May 14.—Alexander A. Cook, Justice of the Peace 17th
district, vice Ephraim W. Funk, failed to
qualify.

June 8.—F. Dorsey Claggett, Justice of the Peace 12th
district, vice Joseph Miller, failed to qualify.

June 14.—Dr. H. F. Perry, Justice of the Peace 4th district,
vice William Kreigh, failed to qualify.

June 14. —John C. Broiling, Officer of Registration 6th dis-
trict, vice Andrew Heck, failed to qualify.

June 21.—Amos Hartzman, Officer of Registration 3rd dis-
trict, vice Dan'1 Hartzman, declined.

June 21. Dennis Cain, Justice of the Peace 15th district,
vice himself, failed to qualify.

June 27.—Samuel B. Preston, Officer of Registration 11th
district, rice himself, failed to qualify.

June 27.—Henry S. Higgs, Officer of Registration 5th dis-
trict, vice himself, failed to qualify.

July 1. Dennis Cain, Officer of Registration loth district,

vice himself, failed to qualify.
