BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGJATES,

January 27th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable
Body, to go into joint convention for the election of Police
Commissioners of Baltimore city, on Tuesday, February 3rd,
1874, in the Hall of the House of Delegates, at 1 o'clock
P. M.

House bill entitled "An Act to give the sanction of the
General Assembly of Maryland to the devise and bequest of
Henry Butler, to the Trustees of the African Methodist Epis-
copal Ebenezer Church, of the city of Baltimore."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings,

Also,

House bill entitled "An Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay Joseph Spurrier, late collector of State taxes in Car-
roll county, the amount over paid by him into the Treasury."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance,

Also,

House bill entitled "An Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Carroll county, in their discretion, to pay an-
nually a sum of money, not exceeding three hundred dollars,
to defray the expenses of Georgiana Young, a lunatic, dur-
ing the time of lunacy.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Longwell, Knight and Walsh,

Also,

House bill entitled "An Act giving the sanction of the
General Assembly of Maryland to the legacy of one hundred
dollars, bequeathed by the last will and testament of Susan
Benson, deceased, late of Worcester county, to the Methodist
Episcopal Church at Stockton, Worcester county.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Aydelotte, Getty and Spencer,
