CHAP. 84.

CHAPTER 83.

Passed Jan, 18, 1834

An act to alter and change the name of the corporation,
known by the name of the President and Directors of the
Susquehanna Bridge and Bank Company.

Name changed

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act, the
corporation heretofore known by the name of The Presi-
dent and Directors of the Susquehanna Bridge and Bank
Company, shall be called and known by the name of The
Susquehanna Bank; provided, that nothing herein contained
shall in any wise alter the liabilities, rights or duties of said
corporation as prescribed in the original act of incorpora-
tion.

Reservation

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing herein
contained shall be so construed as to prevent the issuing of
a writ of Scire Facias or Quo Warranto, on the part of the
state to forfeit the charter of said company, if any act
shall be ascertained to have been committed which would
forfeit the said charter.

 

CHAPTER 84.

Passed Jan. 14, 1834

An act relating to Poppleton street in the city of Baltimore,

Preamble.

WHEREAS, John B. Bastian, of the city of Baltimore,
has represented to this General Assembly, that Poppleton
street in said city, is upon the present plan of the city,
laid down with a width of sixty feet, and must according
to that plan be opened hereafter under the present laws,
and must with that width pass through the said Bastian's
grounds; AND WHEREAS, the said Bastian, has prayed
that the width of said street throughout its extension north
of Baltimore street, be contracted to forty feet, the said
Bastian offering in consideration therefor, to cede his right
for the uses and purposes of Poppleton street, to the ground
contained in an alley, twenty three wide, opened by him
from his property to Saratoga street, and which is includ-
ed within the lines of Poppleton street; — Therefore,

Width prescribed

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Poppleton street, in the city of Baltimore,
be, and the same is hereby established to be of the width
