the personal estate of John Cummins, of said state, de-

ceased; be and they are hereby authorised and empowered
to remove out of this state, a negro woman named Rachel,
into the state of Delaware, in which said negro woman,

the said John Cummins, (deceased) possessed an unexpir-
ed term; Provided, that the said George W. Cummins,
and Jacob Raymond, shall before they remove the said ne-
gro out of this state, execute a bond to the state of Mary-
land, in the penalty of one thousand dollars, current mo-

ney, with security to be approved by one of the judges of
the county court in which said negro resides, to be depo-
sited among the records of said county in which said ne-
gro resides, conditioned that they will not, nor shall any
person claiming under them or by their authority retain the
said negro in servitude after her term of service shall have
expired.

Art act to provide for the cession of the territorial jurisdic-
tion of this state, over certain land on Love Point, in
Queen Anne's county, to the United States, for the erec-
tion of a Light House thereon.

Preamble
|
WHEREAS, it is believed that the convenience of the ci-
tizens of this state, and others navigating the Chesapeake
bay, would be greatly promoted and their interests and pro-
perty better protected, by the erection of a Light House,
on Love Point,'in Queen Anne's county; and the people
immediately interested therein, have determined to apply
to the Congress ol the United States, for the passage of an
act for that purpose; — Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in case the government of the United
States, should hereafter authorise and provide for the erec-
tion of a Light house, on Love point, in Queen Anne's
county, William Grason, Thomas Carter, Jacob W. Legg,
Elford Price and John E. Gibson, shall be and they are
hereby appointed commissioners, for the purposes of this
act, and they or a majority of them, shall be authorised
