CHAP. 61.

within the time limited by law; Provided, nothing herein
contained shall be construed to authorise said John H.
Milburn to execute the property of any person or persons
against whom he may have any claim for taxes or other
public dues without presenting the said claim at least thir-

ty days before execution; and provided also, that any per-
son against whom the said John Henry Milburn shall hold
any claim as aforesaid, is hereby empowered to swear that
the same has been paid or satisfied, which oath shall be a
fall bar to said claim.

 

CHAPTER 61.

Passed Feb. 19,1834

An act for building a Bridge over the Little North East,
in Cecil county, near McCauley's mill.

Commissioners to
build

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John Marnes, Benjamin McVey and John
S. Maffitt, be and they are hereby appointed commission-
ers to fix upon the site near the fording on the Little North-
east creek, near McCauley's Mill, and the said commission-
ers are hereby authorised, by and with the consent and
under the direction of the commissioners of Cecil county,
to erect or cause to be erected a good and substantial
bridge, and done in walkman like manner for a sum not ex-
ceeding four hundred dollars.

Levy authorised

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of
Cecil county are hereby authorised, at their discretion, to
levy upon the assessable property in their county at their
next county levy, the sum of two hundred dollars, and in
eighteen hundred and thirty-five, a further sum of two hun-
dred dollars, and have the same collected as other county
levies are, and made payable to the said bridge commis-
sioners.

Accounts.

Sec, 3. And be it enacted, That the said bridge com-
missioners if the said county commissioners should consent
to the erection of said bridge, shall keep a fair and accu-
rate account of their expenditures in erecting said bridge,
and in case there shall be any thing left after the same is
finished, and the abutments filled in, they shall pay the
same over to the county commissioners, to be by them ap-
plied to the use of the county; a majority of said bridge
commissioners shall be competent to transact any business
relative thereto.
