property, reserving such sum annually as they shall judge
necessary for repairs, augmentations and contingencies.
Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That the assignees of any
one or more shares of the capital stock of this company,
shall upon such assignment made, and completed according
to the provisions of this act, and the by-laws of said com-
pany, be entitled to all the rights and privileges, benefits
and advantages of original subscribers or stockholders in
said company; Provided, no assignment or transfer of stock
shall be valid, unless made on the books of said company,
and every person or persons having so transferred or as-
signed the whole of his, her or their stock in said compa-
ny, shall ipso facto cease to be a member or President or
Director of said company as the case may be.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That the company hereby
incorporated shall not be construed to have power to es-
tablish mills or manufactories, or to carry on milling or
manufacturing as hereinbefore provided for, except within
the limits of Charles county aforesaid.

Sec. 14. And 6e it enacted, That this act shall continue
and be in force until the first day of January, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty, and until the end of the first session of the
General Assembly which shall happen thereafter.

An act relating to Division Fences, between different pro-
prietors in Kent county.
|

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the first day of June next,
all fences constructed upon or near the dividing line of
lines, of tracts of land belonging to different proprietors,
and intended to enclose the separate farms or plantations
of such proprietors, in Kent county, who have or may
agree to join in making the same; if made of posts and
rails, shall be at least four feet high from the surface of
the ground, of good materials, and the average distance
between the three lower rails, not to exceed four inches;
all worm division fences, to be made of good and substan-
tial rails, staked and ridered, and at least five feet high
from the surface of the ground, to the top of the upper
rails; all other division fences of stone to be four feet high;
and if of wood or embankment and wood, or hedges of thorn
