CHAP. 34.

ceeds of the sales of the stock of the state to be issued by
virtue of the provisions of this act, within four months
from the day on which such stock shall be issued by the

Treasurer, for the benefit of the state, all the avails of said
stock, over and above the par value thereof, deducting rea-
sonable charges for effecting said sale, and adding or de-
ducting, as the case may be, the rate of exchange, at the
time of selling said stock, between the city of Baltimore
and the county, city, town or place, where the sale or dis.
position of said stock may be effected, which payment
shall be provided for in the obligation directed by the se-
cond section of this act, to be by said company deposited
with the Treasurer.

 

CHAPTER 34.

Passed Feb. 10, 1834

An act to authorise the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more to reduce the width of a part of Poppleton street, in
said city.

Authority and dis-
cretion

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
be, and they are hereby authorised, it they deem it expe-
dient and proper, to reduce the width of Poppleton street,
to forty feet, by taking thirteen feet from each side of said
street, between Baltimore street and Pratt street, in said
city.

Property vested

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said thirteen feet So
taken as aforesaid; from each side of said street shall, when
the reduction as aforesaid, of the width of said street shall
be ordained by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore,
become immediately vested is the holders and owners of
property on each side of said street, in front of whose tots
the said thirteen feet shall extend, in the same proportion
of front feet, and in the same estate as they hold their re-
spective lots.

Notice and pro-
ceeding directed

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Mayor and city
Council of Baltimore, before they finally pass upon any or-
dinance to provide for the reduction of the said street as
aforesaid, shall first cause an advertisement to be publish-
ed for one week, in all the daily papers of the said city,
(the expense of said advertisement to be paid by the party
