RESOLUTIONS. 1833.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Governor be authorised and requested to employ an
engineer to make a survey, with a view to ascertain the
practicability nnd probable cost of cutting a canal from
the head of tide water of Wicomico river, at or near Alien's
Fre.sh, to Bryan town, in Charles county; and the Execu-
tive are hereby authorised to pay the necessary expense of
said survey, provided the amount of said expense shall not
exceed the sum of two hundred dollars.

Resolution in favor of the Chaplains of both Houses,
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to the Reverend
Mr. Blanchard, Chaplain of the Senate, and the Reverend
Mr. Gerp, Chaplain of the House of Delegates, or to their
order respectively, the sum of one hundred dollars each,
as compensation for their services during the present ses-
sion.

Resolution in favor of Silas Johnson.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the treasurer of the Western Shore be and he is hereby
authorised to pay to Silas Johnson, of Anne Arundel coun-
ty, the amount of a fine that was imposed upon him at
April term, eighteen hundred and thirty-two, which said
fine has been paid by said Johnson and remitted by his
excellency the Governor, with the advice of council.
