An act to divorce Frederick Sheffield, of the city oj Balti-
more, from his wife Celestia Sheffield.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Frederick Sheffield, of the city of Baltimore, be and
he is hereby divorced from his wife Celestia Sheffield, a
vinculo matrimonii,

An act supplementary to the acts of eighteen hundred and
twenty nine and thirty two, in favour of Duncan Stone, oj
Kent county, an alien.

|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Duncan Stone, of Kent county, be and he is hereby
empowered and declared capable to purchase, have, hold,
possess and enjoy real estate in this state, and the same to
convey, transmit, transfer, by deed, devise or descent, in the
same manner, and subject to the same rules as if he were at
the time regularly naturalized according to the laws of the
United States regulating the naturalization of foreigners.

An act in aid of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,That the Treasurer of the Western Shore of Maryland
be and he is hereby authorised and directed to subscribe in
the name and on the behalf of this state, for twelve hundred
and fifty shares of the capital stock of the Chesapeake and
Ohio canal company, and to pay for said shares by issuing
and delivering to said company certificates of stock of the
state of Maryland, bearing interest at the rate of five per
cent, per annum, payable semi-annually, and to commence
at the end of one year after the same shall be issued, and
redeemable at the pleasure of the state, at any time after
