at least seven benefit members of said society, al a stated
meeting of the said society, and may be discussed at the
next stated or special meeting, but shall not be finally de-
cided on until it has been two full months before the so-
ciety, and shall not take effect unless three-fourths of the
benefit members residing within the city and precincts of
Baltimore are in favor thereof; Provided nevertheless, that
no such dissolution shall operate to impair or invalidate
any contract before that time made, or to affect a suit then
instituted, or to be instituted by or against such corpora-
tion.

CHAP. 14,
Contracts valid

Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall be and re-
main in force until the first day of January, eighteen hun-
dred and forty five.

Limitation
|
Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contain-
ed shall be construed to exempt the property of said cor-
poration from the operation of the taxing power of this
state.

CHAPTER 13.
An act for the relief, of John Gauer.

|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Register of the Land office for the western shore
be authorised, and he is hereby directed to issue in due
time to John Gauer, of Allegany county, a patent for a
tract of land called "Lost and Found, " containing nine
hundred and seventy -eight acres, lying in Allegany coun-
ty, without the payment or proof of the payment of the
caution money into the Treasury.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the commissioners of insolvent debtors for the city and
county of Baltimore, be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered to grant to Thomas Gowen, of the city of
