CHAPTER 161.

Passed Mar. 6, 1854

An Act to divorce Emeline R. Hall of Somerset County
from her husband John M. Hall.

Divorce

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Emeline R. Hall of Somerset County, be
and she is hereby divorced a mensa et thoro, from her
husband John M. Hall.

Alimony '

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the County Court of
Somerset, as a court of equity, or the High Court of Chan-
cery, be authorised to grant such alimony in this case as
may appear just and proper.

Name changed

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said Emeline
shall henceforth be called and known by her maiden name
Emeline R. Adams, and shall be able to contract and be con-
tracted with in all respects as if she had not been married
to the John M. Hall.

CHAPTER 162.

A further Supplement to an act, entitled, an act relating
to the people of color in this state, passed at December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter two hun-
dred and eighty one.

Preamble

WHEREAS, by the act entitled, an act relating to the peo-
ple of color in this state, passed at December session, eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-one, chapter two hundred and eigh-
ty-one, the proportion of tax to be paid by Baltimore city
and county, was not accurately defined — Therefore,

Levy on the coun-

ty $1,297.86

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissions s of Baltimore county
shall annually hereafter levy and collect upon the taxable
property of said county, without the limits of the city qf
Baltimore, the sum of one thosand two hundred and nine-
ty seven dollars, and eighty-six cents, and the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, shall annually hereafter levy and
collect upon the taxable property of said city the sum of

one thousand nine hundred and forty-six dollars, and eigh-
ty cents, to carry into effect the provisions of the act to
which this is a supplement.
