CHAPTER 14!.

CHAP. 141.

A Supplement to an act to revive an act, entitled, an act to
Incorporate the Trustees of the Bladensburg Academy,
and for other purposes, passed January twenty-seventh,
eighteen hundred and sixteen, chapter one hundred and
eighty five, and also a Supplement thereto, passed Febru-
ary the third, eighteen hundred and seventeen, chapter
ninety five.

Passed Mar. 5, 1834

SECTION 1. Be if enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Trustees of Bladensburg Academy,
shall be, and they are hereby declared entitled to the bene-
fit of the original act and supplement to which this is a sup-
plement.

Sec. 2. AND WHEREAS, a new mode of drawing lotte-
ries, has been introduced, and it may be doubtful whether
Bladensburg Academy is authorised by the present acts of
Assembly, to causo. their lottery to be drawn according to
such new mode; Be it enacted, that the Trustees of Bladens-
burg academy, or any person or persons who have contracted
for or purchased or may hereafter contract for or purchase
the right to the Scheme of a Lottery authorised to be
drawn for their benefit, shall be at liberty to form, adopt
and draw a scheme of said Lottery, in such mode and upon
such principles as shall or may be approved by the Gover-
nor and Council of the State of Maryland.

Sec. 3 And be it enacted, That should the amount author-
ised by this Lottery be more than sufficient for building
Bladensburg Academy, the Trustees be anil they are here-
by authorised to use it for the support of a Teacher or
Teachers of the said Academy, or in any way best calcu-
lated to promote its utility.

Sec. 4 AND WHEREAS, four deaths have occured among the
Trustees of the Bladensburg Academy, Be it enacted, That
William Becket, Christopher C. Hyatt, Benjamin Day
and Robert Wright, be and they are hereby declared Trus-
tees to fill said vacancies.
