An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Frederick County to
allow to Richard English of said county a, certain sum
of money by him claimed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of .Maryland,
That the Levy Court of Frederick County is hereby au-
thorised to allow to Richard English of said County; such
sum of money as said Court, way, after hearing all the evi-
dence in the case, think him justly entitled to, for aiding
and assisting to erect a bridge over the Monocacy River at
Williams' Ferry and for furnishing provisions and materials
to the contractor who erected said bridge; and that the
said Court, levy or the assessable property in said County,
such sum as it may think proper to allow.

SECTION 1. Be it 'enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the first day of August
next, all fields and grounds kept for enclosure in Washing-
ton county, shall be fenced with posts and rails or plank or
worm fence, (well staked and ridered) made of good and
substantial rails, at least four feet and half high from the
ground to the top of the upper rail, and all worm fences
shall be at least six feet high from the ground to the top of
the upper rail, and the first or under rail in post and rail

or plank or worm fences, shall not exceed five inches from
the ground or embankment, on which the same is or may
be built, and the width between the rails composing the
fence shall be such as is usual in the construction of good
post and rail, plank or worm fences, and all Brush Fences
