CHAP. 132.

CHAPTER 131.

Passed Mar.3,1834

An act to alter and change the name of Chtistian Artz, of
Frederick county, to Christian Burr Arts.

Name changed

Section 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the name of Christian Artz, of Frederick
county, be and it is hereby altered and changed to Chris-
tian Burr Artz; provided, that nothing contained in this act
shall be so construed to release or absolve the said Chris-
tian Artz, from any contracts, engagements, or liabilities,
which he hath entered into, or in any manner to vary his
present existing responsibilities or impair any right which
he hath now or may hereafter acquire by the name of Chris-
tian Artz.

Property retted

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That any property, which
may have been deeded to Christian Artz, under the name
of Christian Burr Artz, or Chnstian B. Artz, shall as ab-
solutely vest in the said Christian Artz, as if the same had
been deeded to him as Christian Artz, according to the
true intent and Cleaning of the paities executing said deed.

 

CHAPTER 132.

Passed Mar. 4, 1834

A Supplement to an act, entitled, an act for the regulation
and improvement of the Village of Denton, in Caroline
county, and for other purposes.

quired and num-
ber

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That no person shall hereafter be elected to the
office of commissioner in said village, for the time being,
who shall not have resided twelve months in said village;
immediately previous to said election, and at the time con-
ducting some business, or having a family in said village.

Tenure of commis-
sioners

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the offices of the pre-
sent commissioners of said village shall expire on the se-
cond Monday in April next; and the commissioners shall be
elected annually, and hold their offices' one year, and until
others are chosen, and shall consist of the number seven
instead of nine.
