CHAP. 118.

CHAPTER 117.

Passed Feb. 24,1834

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act, to incorporate the
Woodsborough Savings' Institution.

Dividend directed

Se it enacted by the General Assembly, of Maryland,
That it shall be the duty of the Directors of the Woodsbo-
rough Savings' Institution, on the first Saturday of Janua-
ry, and the first Saturday of July, of each and every year,
from and after the passage of this act, to make and declare
a dividend of the interests and profits of said institution,
(leaving a surplus fund of said profits adequate to its los-
ses after paying its expenses) and the same to pay over
unto the depositors or their legal representatives, within
ten days thereafter.

 

CHAPTER 118.

Passed Feb. 24, 1834

An act authorising the sale of Land (herein mentioned.

WHEREAS, it is represented to the General Assembly of
Maryland, that a piece of land situated in Baltimore coun-
ty, has been transferred by a certain Philip Rhoades, to
Henry Rhoades, John Martin, Benjamin Palmer, Abraham
De Groff and William R. Champayne, as Trustees for the
purpose of erecting thereon a public school and free meet-
ing house; and whereas, for the want of necessary funds,
they are unable to accomplish the benevolent object they
had in view — Therefore,

Preamble

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Henry Rhoades, John Martin, Benjamin Palmer, Abra-
ham De Groff and William R. Champayne, or a majority

Deed authorised

of them, be, and they are hereby authorised and empower-
ed to transfer by deed to the Methodist Protestant Church,
the above mentioned piece oi land which they hold as
Trustees, and that the said deed shall be considered as

good and valid in law; Provided, the said Philip Rhoades,
shall signify his assent to the said transfer by becoming a
party to the said deed, and provided that the said deed be
duly executed and acknowledged, and recorded among the
land records of Baltimore county, in the manner and with-
in the time prescribed by the existing laws of this state; and
