JAMES THOMAS, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

1833.

President and directors of the Partner's and Merchant's

Bank of Baltimore, into the Western Shore Treasury, of
the sum of five thousand dollars, the right of the state to
appoint a director or directors of the said bank, be and it is
hereby in that case relinquished; Provided always, that the
state shall have the privilege of voting in the general elec-
ion of direetors, and at all general meetings of the stock-
holders, as other stockholders in proportion to the number
of shares she now holds or may hereafter hold in the said
hank.

CHAPTER 116.

 

An act authorising the. Collector of Worcester county, to

pay over to the Commissioners of the town of Snow Hill,
or to their order, a certain sum of money, for the purpo-
ses therein mentioned.

Passed Feb. 24,1834

WHEREAS, it appears by the levy list of Worcester
county, that a surplus of money remains in the hands of
the collector of said county, over and above the payment
of all the charges or demands against the said levy list,
AND WHEREAS, the commissioners of the town of Snow
Hill, are desirous that a portion of the surplus as aforesaid,
may be appropriated for the purpose of purchasing a fire
engine, for the use of said town of Snow Hill; — There-
fore,

Preamble

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the colfector of Worcester county, be and
he is hereby authorised nnd required to pay over to the
commissioners of the town of Snow Hill, or to their order,
the sum of one hundred dollars, out of any money that
may be in his hands, not otherwise appropriated.

Payment required

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners
shall appropriate the aforesaid sum of one hundred dol-
lars, towards the payment of the purchase money of the
said fire engine, or to defray the necessary expenses at-
tending the safety and preservation of said fire engine.
