hereby divorced from bed, board and mutual cohabitation,
with his wife Eleanor Hayes.

Liability and right

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Robert H. Hayes
shall not be liable for any debt to be hereafter contracted'
by the said Eleanor Hayes, nor be entitled to any proper-
ty which she may hereafter acquire,

Legal capacity

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Eleanor Hayes,
be and she is hereby authorised and empowered to make
any contract with any person or persons whatsoever, and
to sue and be sued, in her own name, and without joining

Marriage excepted
|
her said husband in any such suits; Provided always, that
this act shall not be understood or construed to authorise
the said Eleanor Hayes to contract marriage during the
life time of her husband, or the said Robert H. Hayes, to
contract marriage during the life time of his said wife.

Feme sole
|
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the ,«aid Eleanor Hayes
shall have, and exercise all the rights, privileges and im-
munities, and be subject to all legal responsibilities of a
feme sole, in the same manner she would have been if she
never had been married.

An act to incorporate the Maryland Steam Boat Compa-
ny.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Marytand, That John Goldsborough, Thomas H. Daw-
son, William H. Groome, Henry Holliday, Theodore Den-
ny, Henry H. Harwood, George Mackubin, James Corner,
Duncan H. McCullouch, Lemuel G, Taylor, Edmund
Lynch, William McDonald and Sons', Adam Miller and
Alexander C. Magruder, and others, owners of the Steam
Boat Maryland, their successors and assigns, be, and they
are hereby created and made a corporation and body poli-

tic by the name and title of The Maryland Steam Boat
Company,and by that name and title shall have perpetual
succession, and shall be capable in law, to sue and
be sued, in any court of law or equity; to have and use a
common seal and to alter the same, when deemed expedi-
ent, and generally to do all such acts as shall be proper
and necessary for the purpose of employing The Steam
Boat Maryland, or any Steam Boat, which the said com-
