CHAPTER 577.

AN ACT to amend Article 27 of the Code of Public General
|
 
|
Laws, title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "Trading
|
 
|
Stamps," by adding a section thereto, to follow Section
|
 
|
263H, and to be known as Section 263I.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
|

"Crimes and Punishments," sub-title ''Trading Stamps," be
|
stamps.
|
and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a section,
|
 
|
to be known as 263I.
|
 
|
263!. No person shall sell or issue any stamp, trading
|
 
|
stamp, cash discount stamp, check, ticket, coupon or other
|

similar device, which will entitle the holder thereof, on presen-
|

tation thereof, either singly or in definite number, to receive,
|
or issue.

either directly from the vendor or indirectly through any
|
 
|
other person, money or goods, wares and merchandise, in
|
 
|
which there shall be printed or written upon the face of each
|
 
|
of said stamps, trading stamps, cash discount stamps, checks,
|
 
|
tickets, coupons or other similar devices, a different redeem-
|
 
|
able value in merchandise from the redeemable value in money.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all the penalties provided by
|
 
|
Section 263G of Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws,
|
 
|
shall apply to a violation of Section 263I in the same manner
|
 
|
as they applied to the original sections.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
|
