CHAPTER 546.
|
 
|
AN ACT to add two additional sections to Article 27 of the
|
 
|
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Crimes
|
 
|
and Punishments," sub-title "Destroying Property Malic-
|
 
|
iously," to be known as Sections 59C and 59D.
|
 
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|

amended by the addition of two new sections to be inserted

after Section 596, and to be known as Sections 59C and 59D,

and to read as follows :
|
 
|
59C. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to
|

wrongfully and maliciously connect, disconnect, tap or inter-
|
tampering
with water
|
fere or tamper with any of the canals, springs, reservoirs, tun-
|
meters.
|
nels, mounds, dams, plugs, mains, pipes, conduits, connections,
|
 
|
taps, valves, engines and machinery belonging to any company
|
 
|
using or engaged in the supplying of water for domestic, agri-
|
 
|
cultural or manufacturing purposes, or either of them ; or to
|
 
|
make any connection with any of such canals, springs, reser-
|
 
|
voirs, tunnels, mounds, dams, plugs, mains, pipes, conduits.
|
 
|
connections, taps, valves, engines and machinery, for the pur-
|
 
|
pose of wasting or using such water, or to in any wise tamper
|
 
|
with any meters used to register the water consumed, unless
|
 
|
such person or persons shall be duly authorized by or be in the
|
 
|
employ of such company ; provided, that nothing in this Act
|
 
|
shall in any way interfere with the lawful supervision and con-
|
 
|
trol of water companies, their canals, springs, reservoirs, tunnels.
|
 
|
mounds, dams, plugs, mains, pipes, conduits, connections, taps,
|
 
|
valves, engines and machinery by the municipalities ; nor shall
|

anything in this Act interfere with any right now existing

|
in any municipality to pass ordinances relating to and regu-
|
 
|
lating such water companies.
