SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

CHAPTER 514.

 

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections

 

886A and 886B of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local

 

Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Vagrant, De-

 

pendent and Vicious Children," as enacted by Act of 1902,

SECTION i. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

without compensation from the city or State; the probation

 

officers are deemed officers of the various courts presided

 

over by the Judges of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City,

 

exercising functions under the authority and direction of such

 

courts, and in the execution of their office are vested with the

 

privileges and authority of conservators of the peace.

 

886B. In any proceeding before any of said courts or before

custody is involved, the court or magistrate may suspend fur-

 

ther action and place such minor in the care and custody of a
