by any candidate, directly or indirectly, payment or promise
|

of payment, office, appointment, emolument or anything of
|

value, for his vote, support or influence. Each voter shall
|

indicate the person or persons for whom he votes by a cross

The polls shall be closed promptly at eight o'clock P.M., and

the said board shall proceed to count the votes cast for the

several candidates, and make out a correct return of all the
|

votes cast for them, and the names of the offices for which each
|
 
|
is a candidate; the votes cast for each opposite their respective
|
 
|
names, the affidavits made by the board, the return of the elec-
|
 
|
tion board, the list of accepted voters, and the list of rejected
|
 
|
applicants to vote which shall be placed in the ballot box,
|
 
|
which shall be locked and sealed with a paper strip pasted
|
 
|
over the keyhole and extending over the lid of said box onto
|
 
|
the side thereof, and the names of said board shall be written
|
 
|
across said seal, together with the number of the district and
|
 
|
precinct, before said seal is pasted on said box, and the said
|
 
|
box shall not be reopened until a meeting of the county conven-
|
 
|
